Club captain Hugo Lloris is also out of action for Ryan Mason’s men after a groin injury picked up, whilst Rodrigo Bentancur is also on the long-term treatment table after a knee injury picked up earlier in the campaign.

Cristian Romero and Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg both suffered knocks during their disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Brentford on Saturday [20 May] but both players should return for Sunday’s huge encounter for the West Yorkshire outfit.

After starting the game on top and in the lead following Rodrigo’s terrific opener, the Whites simply went back into their shells and allowed the Hammers the freedom of East London to go on and grab a fairly easy win.

Leeds United simply lacked the necessary tactical quality and mental strength to hold onto their lead, as has been the case all season long. And it’s no wonder why they are in dire straits right now.

The pressure is all on them now, as they’ve pretty much blown the opportunity for their Premier League safety fate to be in their own hands.

A Leeds United win over Harry Kane and co could still resign them to the Championship next season, should Everton manage to beat Bournemouth at Goodison Park.

One of those games where the Whites will have to rely on elsewhere to seal their own fate – not the best position to be in when facing a gut-wrenching relegation battle. What will this mean for their potential 49ers Enterprises takeover?

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
