Injury expert shares Leeds United update ahead of Premier League clash v West Ham United

Leeds United are set to be without four first-team players for their Premier League clash against West Ham United, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

Sam Allardyce heads to the London Stadium with his team’s Premier League status hanging by a thread after the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United.

Luis Sinisterra, Tyler Adams and Stuart Dallas are all long-term absentees and are all “ruled out” against the Hammers on Sunday (21 May).

Junior Firpo is the latest absentee after being sent off in the latter stages of the game against Eddie Howe’s side. One other concern is Liam Cooper, with Dinnery rating the defender’s chances of playing at “50 per cent”.

Do or die

It’s getting to the point of no return for Leeds. They have to go to the London Stadium and pick up all three points. Four points from their last two fixtures are a must, and even that might not guarantee survival. The draw against Newcastle was so gutwrenching for so many reasons.

The Magpies were fairly blunt going forward and had to rely on two penalties to bail them out of trouble. Had Patrick Bamford put the penalty away, the story could have been so different. It’s moments like that which will define the season and if Leeds are relegated, some of the striker’s misses will be heavily scrutinised.

West Ham are now almost certainly safe for another year and could well look to rest some players ahead of their potential Europa Conference League final. The Hammers face off against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday having won the first leg 2-1. Leeds fans will be hoping the Irons reach the final and take their eye off the ball for the clash on Sunday afternoon.
