Injury expert shares Kevin De Bruyne update ahead of Manchester City Premier League clash v Leeds United
Kevin De Bruyne has a “50 per cent” chance of playing for Manchester City in the Citizens’ Premier League clash against Leeds United on Saturday, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.
The Belgium star missed City’s 3-0 win over West Ham United on Wednesday evening (3 May) having previously been absent during the win over Fulham.
However, according to Dinnery, De Bruyne does have a chance of returning for Sam Allardyce’s first game in charge on the Yorkshire side (Premier Injuries).
Daunting
A trip to the Etihad is probably the most daunting task in European football. Guardiola’s side are now hitting top form, and it’s becoming a yearly occurrence. It’s almost as if the Spaniard likes to tinker in the early part of the season to make sure there’s some sort of competition towards the end of the campaign.
Allardyce will take some encouragement from West Ham’s performance on Wednesday. The Hammers had City’s number during the first half and were perhaps unfortunate not to be leading. It was a soft set piece which sent the home side on their way, but up until that, they were struggling to break through.
We all know what the former West Brom boss will bring to Elland Road. Leeds will be extremely hard to break down. Defending will almost certainly be the first priority. If they can remain disciplined do the basics correctly, Leeds have pace on the counterattack which could hurt City.
We all know a result is extremely unlikely, but, stranger things have certainly happened.
