Injury Expert shares if Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams may fail medical amid Chelsea transfer links

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...

Tyler Adams is unlikely to fail his medical at Chelsea or any other club he joins if he does leave Leeds United, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert asserts that despite his hamstring concern that’s kept him out of action since April, he will most likely be given the green signal.

The 24-year-old United States international even had to undergo surgery to deal with the issue and that ended his campaign.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Adams, “Typically, existing and known injuries won’t make a player fail his or her physical.

“What from an orthopaedic standpoint may cause a failed physical are unforeseen issues that risk wear and tear in certain joints or testing that doesn’t come out as expected.

“A medical team will understand when a player is recovering from injury and what their current deficits should be.”

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth told Give Me Sport on Wednesday, 9 August, that Chelsea could structure a longer-team deal to sign Adams.

They want to sign two new midfielders this summer and the American is understood to be a priority option for them.

Thus far, Adams has not played a single pre-season or regular game under Daniel Farke and has a release clause in his contract.

This means that if the Blues can shell out that money, they will not need to speak to Leeds in order to secure his services.

In other Leeds United news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign two centre-backs this summer with a winger now on the radar as well.
