Injured Leeds player posts encouraging update on Instagram
Leeds United forward Jean-Kevin Augustin has shown that he is back on the mend on Instagram after uploading a video of himself on a treadmill.
Before the coronavirus pandemic led to the EFL being suspended for the rest of the month last week, 22-year-old Augustin had been recovering from a hamstring injury that he sustained in February.
As a result, the Frenchman was not named in any of Marcelo Bielsa’s last three matchday squads.
Augustin has had a tough time since joining Leeds on loan from RB Leipzig in January as not only as he failed to start a match for the Whites, but his injury issue and now the coronavirus-enforced suspension has potentially set him back even further.
Still, it seems that is not dampening Augustin’s spirits with the striker uploading a clip of himself training on a treadmill in Leeds on Monday via his personal Instagram account.
It must be tough for Augustin.
He joined Monaco on loan from Leipzig last summer and started just two league fixtures before that loan was cancelled and he joined Leeds.
It’s been almost two months since he headed to Elland Road and still, Augustin is awaiting his first start in English football.
Once the football does resume, it will be interesting to see how Bielsa will fit Augustin into his plans because there’s a good chance he’ll be more up to speed with the boss’ tactics and should have fully recovered from his hamstring injury.
In other Leeds United news, Greg Dyke has issued a warning about what would send Leeds fans nuts if it happened.
