'Inevitable', 'Modern day Julian Joachim' - Some Leeds fans react to 24y/o they 'can't stand'

Leeds United had an afternoon to forget on Saturday as they suffered a disappointing defeat to Brighton.

The visitors have struggled this season, with the win at Elland Road just their third of the Premier League season.

Many supporters have pointed blame at the likes of Pascal Struijk and Luke Ayling, with the latter at fault for the only goal of the match, scored by Neal Maupay.

It is not the first time the Frenchman has scored at our place, either, and he wound up the Elland Road faithful when he scored a penalty for Brentford back in October 2018.

He would have done the same again at the weekend if fans were in attendance, as he made the most of his easy tap-in with his celebration.

The Brighton striker has scored his most goals in England against Leeds, and as soon as his name was on the team-sheet, it was inevitable it was going to happen.

Leeds fans instead used a different platform to react to Maupay’s action and performance, with many suggesting his goal had an air of inevitability about it.

The most worrying aspect of the 24-year-old scoring was how he was able to do it, as he was left in acres of space inside the six-yard box.

Leeds have now failed to keep a clean sheet in three matches, and that should be what supporters are most concerned with.

Nevertheless, here is some of the reaction to Maupay’s display against the Whites…
