Illan Meslier to Tottenham transfer mooted by Sky Sports pundit as Leeds United exit discussed
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson believes Tottenham could be interested in signing Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier during the summer window.
According to TEAMtalk (11 April), Spurs are looking to land a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and have identified his compatriot as a potential target.
Robinson feels that Spurs will be on the lookout for a new number one and believes Meslier would be a “quality” addition.
“I think if you’re going to build as well – Illan Meslier. You need to carry two top-class goalkeepers, an area Tottenham could address,” he exclusively to MOT Leeds News.
“Meslier has had a rough end to the season but that doesn’t take away his quality.

“That was all about confidence which he was lacking. He’s a quality young goalkeeper. Somebody like him alongside an experienced professional like Oblak would be a good addition.”
The 23-year-old was axed from Leeds’ starting XI under Sam Allardyce, with the former West Brom boss starting Joel Robles in his place.
With a number of players expected to depart during the off-season, the Frenchman could well have played his last game in a White shirt.
Elsewhere, the futures of Rodrigo, Tyler Adams, Marc Roca and Willy Gnonto are also up in the air following the club’s relegation to the Championship.
In other Leeds United news, a Fabrizio Romano transfer update has a queue of teams ready to sign one unlikely Whites player.
