Illan Meslier slammed by Sky Sports pundit after ‘questionable’ Leeds United display v Crystal Palace
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson believes Illan Meslier could have done better with at least two of Crystal Palace’s goals during their 5-1 win over Leeds United.
Roy Hodgson’s side produced a fine second-half display to blow the Yorkshire side away and inflict a damaging defeat on Javi Gracia’s men.
Robinson admits he’s a big fan of the 23-year-old but has claimed his recent performances have been “questionable”.

“Yeah, I think he could do better [first goal]. I think his recent performances have dipped,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“He’s an excellent goalkeeper with a really bright future but at the moment his performances have dipped.

“I even think he could’ve done better with the goal from Odsonne Édouard. He got half a hand to it but it wasn’t like it was in off the post.
“There are games where he’s been questionable.”
The defeat to Crystal Palace was one to forget for all the players, with Leeds now firmly back in the relegation conversation after their 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
The onus is now on Gracia to get his side in some sort of shape ahead of Liverpool making the trip to West Yorkshire in what is a third home fixture on the spin.
In other Leeds United news, the club have already made the decision to splash plenty of cash on one man this summer.
