Illan Meslier on his way out of Leeds United as Manchester United and Chelsea eye 2023 transfer
Illan Meslier is reportedly on his way out of Leeds United amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in the upcoming calendar year.
According to Media Foot [12 December], while nothing has been finalised over his exit, the Frenchman is “clearly on his way out” of Elland Road.
The Whites are now targeting Dinamo Zagreb keeper Dominik Likakovic who has been performing exceptionally well for Croatia at the World Cup in Qatar.

Surely not?
Leeds surely cannot afford to lose out on three star players in the same season with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha leaving in the summer and Meslier is also admired by the fans who would hate to see him leave.
The Whites keeper Meslier is currently on the rise and due to his age and talent at that age, is already one of their if their biggest asset in the first-team squad.
Jesse Marsch surely would not want him to leave as he is pivotal to the way his side plays due to his ball-playing ability along with his exceptional sweeping instincts.
However, if either Manchester United or Chelsea qualify for the Champions League or even in January offer Meslier good money, he could have his head turned by either club.
That said, we cannot fathom why they would want a new keeper as the Manchester outfit already has David de Gea and Dean Henderson who’s out on loan at Nottingham Forest while Chelsea have two keepers currently at the club in Kepa and Edouard Mendy who are fighting for the number one role.
It remains to be seen if Leeds still pursue Livakovic as a backup because they definitely will need to sign someone if Meslier leaves.
In other Leeds United, 36 scouts recently showed up to watch multiple Leeds sensations with as many as four exits on the cards in the January transfer window.
