Iker Casillas delivers three-word verdict on early Leeds team news v West Ham
Former Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas has hailed Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa after he revealed his starting line-up for the match against West Ham.
Leeds go into their clash against the Hammers on Friday after losing Robin Koch and Diego Llorente to fresh injury blows.
And rather than saying who could come in and start at Elland Road, Bielsa reeled off the entire starting line-up he’ll name and the clip has since gone viral on Twitter.
Gary Lineker applauded Bielsa’s no-nonsense approach to his pre-match press conference on Wednesday while Casillas has also reacted.
The Spaniard took to his personal Twitter account to say: “I like Bielsa!”
It’s not the first time that Bielsa has done this as he went through a spell in the 2018/19 season when he did the same after the Spygate incident.
It felt as though he did that to prove a point, to show that it doesn’t matter how much you know about the people starting ahead of a game and backing up his decision to send spies to opposition training grounds.
Bielsa simply doesn’t care whether David Moyes knows his starting line-up this week.
Based on the injury news, it was kind of obvious who might have started anyway.
Moyes will no doubt know about Bielsa’s team and try to concoct a way to beat the players he’s setting out to start.
But could that distract Moyes? Is Bielsa playing mind games?
Or, is the Argentine simply being completely up front and honest just to show how good a manager he actually is?
Either way, we’re like Casillas.
We love him.
