'If I ever become a sports director...' - Ex-forward would want to hire Bielsa if he lands job
Ex-Italy forward Antonio Cassano has revealed he would make a beeline to hire Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa as manager if he ever landed a sports director job.
Bielsa is one of the most reputable managers in world football with Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino constantly praising the Argentine.
Since he was appointed in charge of Leeds in 2018, Bielsa has transformed the Whites from a mid-table Championship club to one that currently sits top of the second tier and on course for promotion back to the Premier League.
He’s made little change to the playing squad in that time and that is perhaps why Cassano would want to hire him if he ever got the chance.
“If I ever become a sports director, I will do my best to bring him to my team,” Cassano said on Instagram Live with journalist Pierluigi Pardo, as quoted by RedGol.
“He is a soccer revolutionary, a disciplined person with a lot of personality.”

Bielsa is one of the best managers in the world and Leeds are so lucky to have him in charge.
It really isn’t a surprise that the Whites sit top of the Championship with nine matches to play this season when they have a manager like him sat in the dug-out.
Although Bielsa’s career isn’t laden with trophies and awards, he is still well known for his tactical approach to the game and the way he manages his players.
Let’s hope Cassano doesn’t get a job at a club that has the reputation and financial clout to lure Bielsa away from Elland Road because there are clubs out there and Cassano does have links to illustrious teams such as Real Madrid, Roma, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
In other Leeds United news, fans have urged the club to sign this player after a claim was made by a Sky Sports commentator.
