Ian Wright makes Marcelo Bielsa prediction ahead of Leeds United v Liverpool
Ian Wright believes that Marcelo Bielsa will be “absolutely crazy” to ask his Leeds United team to play the same way against Liverpool as they did v Arsenal on Saturday.
The Whites suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat against the Gunners on the back of a 7-0 drubbing against Manchester City.
They will now be squaring off against title contenders Liverpool on boxing day, who with a win against Tottenham could go top, and lead the English top flight going into the game against Leeds.

After the loss to Arsenal, Wright said on Premier League Productions, “Bielsa will be absolutely crazy if he does this vs Liverpool. Looks like he will as he doesn’t have a plan B. Shocking really.”
Something must change
It’s one thing to have this cavalier approach against a side like Arsenal, but it’s another trying to do it against Liverpool.
The Reds are one of the best sides in Europe at making teams pay for committing too many bodies forward.
Given how Leeds defend in the man-to-man system, there’s no way they’ll be able to contain the Liverpool attacking players.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diego Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson love when players try marking them as they can just drift away from them with their pace and industry.
There’s no chance that playing that way will get Leeds the result they want.
Bielsa has been terribly unlucky with injuries this season and he’s got to play to the situation and stop with his idealism, at least against the big sides.
