Ian Wright in awe of ‘beautiful’ Patrick Bamford moment in 2-2 Premier League draw v Newcastle
Ian Wright was full of praise for Patrick Bamford after the Leeds United forward produced a “beautiful” moment during the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United.
Goals from Luke Ayling and Rasmus Kristensen were cancelled out by a Callum Wilson brace to see the spoils shared at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Wright and Sean Wright-Phillips were both in awe of a “great” piece on interplay from Bamford and Jack Harrison in the lead-up to Leeds’ first goal.

Wright-Phillips said (Match of the Day, 14m 42s, 13 May): “Bamford with some great hold-up play. The one-two with Harrison is great.”
Wright replied: “Beautiful.”
Crunch time
Most Leeds fans would have taken a point out of the fixtures against Newcastle and Manchester City, particularly after the dismal run of form which proceeded the two matches. Allardyce has certainly brought something different since his arrival.
The Whites are more competitive and it’s now crucial that they capitalise against West Ham United in their next Premier League fixture. The Hammers are now practically safe and will hopefully have a European final to look forward to before the two sides meet at the London Stadium.

David Moyes could be inclined to make one or two changes to his lineup to ensure his best players remain fit and firing. The performances have certainly been there for Leeds, it’s now about putting two wins on the board before the 2022/23 season reaches its conclusion.
A Manchester City win against Everton will be absolutely vital heading into the final two weeks of the campaign.
In other Leeds United news, Big Sam has reintroduced something to training that Gracia and Marsch axed and the players are loving it.
