Ian Wright delivers Leeds United relegation prediction after Newcastle draw

Ian Wright believes that Leeds United will get relegated if they continue shipping in goals in the same manner.

The former Arsenal striker was not impressed with the way they conceded two in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle on Saturday, 13 May at Elland Road.

He does back Everton to stay up but does not see Whites avoiding relegation unless there’s a drastic change.

Speaking on the Kelly & Wrighty Show, Wright said (15/03, 14:45), “I watched Leeds the other day, there are mistakes you can’t legislate. Yeah, the penalty was a bad one. It all hung on that penalty and I cannot tell you how important it was for him to score the penalty. When he missed it, it all changed.

Everton will look at their two games, they will at least get four points out of that run. Wolves and Bournemouth are playing poorly.

Leeds may see those games and think they’ve got a chance but not the way they’ve been playing.”

Need the win

Leeds need to conjure up three points from at least one of their next two games.

West Ham and Spurs both seemingly have nothing to play for and it could be an ideal time to take them on.

If Leeds are to take a point from Spurs on the final day of the season in front of their home fans, then they surely will be backing themselves to do that.

However, that makes it important for them to pick up maximum points from their trip to London – not always a happy visiting place for the Whites.

It’s on Sam Allardyce to bring out a tune from some of these players as they’ve definitely got what it takes to come up with the goods.

Hopefully, their efforts are rewarded and Leeds manage to stay in the Premier League for another season.
