'I love this team!' - Beckford picks odd time to heap praise on Leeds

Jermaine Beckford has heaped praise on Leeds United despite the Whites getting beaten by West Ham on Monday night with our terrible record in the capital continuing.

Goals from Jesse Lingard and Craig Dawson condemned us to another loss in London but Beckford wasn’t too upset by the result.

The former Whites forward took to social media to express his joy at how far Leeds had come in the Premier League and adapted to top-flight football.

“Even at 2-0 down, I still don’t want to switch it off!” Beckford tweeted during the latter stages of the game.

“This season has been a massive learning curve for the lads, understanding the pressures and quality of other teams in this league. I love this team!

“Regardless of any victory, draw or loss!”

This is a solid point from Beckford but it was a slightly unusual time to tweet such a supportive message.

We could’ve done with Beckford upfront at the London Stadium as Patrick Bamford simply couldn’t find the target.

This is one of the reasons that the tweeting of this message came at a weird time.

It was a very disappointing night for the squad and there are plenty of problems for Marcelo Bielsa to sort out before we take on Chelsea.

But as we said, Beckford has hit the nail on the head with his comments and let’s not forget we were up against a West Ham side gunning for a top-four spot.

The one bit we will disagree with however, is the comment about not wanting to switch the game off as by the time that was tweeted, quite a lot of us had seen enough.

We still love the lads, of course we do, but we’d love them even more if they stopped making daft mistakes at set-pieces and picked up a win in London before the season is out.

In other Leeds United news, this Leeds player is unlikely to get much more game-time this season.
