‘I can’t see lightning striking twice’ – Sky Sports pundit predicts Leeds clash v Wigan

Leeds United finally got themselves back to winning ways on Tuesday night with a fantastic comeback win against Millwall.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men launched themselves back to the top of the Championship standings as they came from two goals down to win 3-2 against Gary Rowett’s in-form side.

It’s been a good week for Leeds supporters, who have seen Jean-Kevin Augustin arrive on loan from RB Leipzig before being treated to that win on Tuesday at Elland Road.

Next up in West Yorkshire is struggling Wigan, who are bound to provide a different test to Leeds to what Millwall did.

The Latics won at Elland Road last season but Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that the Whites will march on to a second consecutive victory, tipping them to win 2-1.

“What a result that was for Leeds against Millwall! They have struggled for results lately and at 2-0 down you feared the worst, but they bounced back brilliantly and are now top of the table again,” said Prutton on the Sky Sports website.

“Wigan claimed a huge win themselves against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night but need to keep it going if they want to get out of trouble. They claimed a famous win at Elland Road last season, but I can’t see lightning striking twice.”

Leeds need to start building up some momentum now.

They broke their bad run by beating Millwall on Tuesday so now is the time to start a good run of form that sees them build a gap between themselves and third place.

Wigan are going to be a tough side to break down as they’re bound to sit back and defend but Leeds should be able to find a way through.

In other Leeds United news, it’s been confirmed that this player has left Elland Road.
