Hull early team news v Leeds United – Seven ruled out of Championship clash

Leeds United have been given a major boost for the clash with Hull City on Saturday after the latest injury update.

The Whites are hoping to get back to winning ways at the MKM Stadium on 4 January after a disappointing draw against Blackburn last time out.

Daniel Farke’s side are three points clear at the summit of the Championship table and could extend their lead to six points if other results go their way.

Hull manager Ruben Selles confirmed after the loss to Middlesbrough (1 January, Hull Daily Mail) that Ryan Longman will be out for two weeks with a groin injury therefore missing the clash with Leeds.

Former Leeds target Liam Miller will miss the contest alongside Mohamed Belloumi, Carl Rushworth, Kasey Palmer, Charlie Hughes and Oscar Zambrano (suspended).

Leeds United expected to win v Hull

The Whites are expected to return to winning ways in this clash anyway but even more so with the growing injury list for the hosts.

They must rise to the expectation as any negative result could have major implications at the top of the Championship table.

Farke and his side are desperate to return to the Premier League and not end up missing out in the same cruel fashion that they did last season.

Building as much of a gap as possible to Sheffield United and Burnley is crucial because things can change so quickly in the second tier.

United should focus on their own results and not what others are doing and ensure that they win as many matches as they possibly can.

The draw with Blackburn will have felt like a loss after Pascal Struijk’s late penalty gave them the lead but this is the ideal chance to get back to winning ways.

In other Leeds news, Farke reportedly wants to sign a Bundesliga star ‘immediately’ to help the Whites’ promotion push.
