Hull City v Leeds United postponement latest amid Met Office update

Leeds United are set to face Hull City on Saturday with the game unlikely to be affected by the latest update from Met Office.

Several parts of the UK will be hit by adverse weather conditions with heavy snowfall and icy conditions expected over the weekend with a yellow weather warning issued for Hull on 4 January (Met Office), the date of Leeds’ anticipated encounter with Hull City.

After a disappointing result against Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Day, the Whites will be hoping that the game will go ahead as planned in a bid to bounce back from what was a poor performance and fortunately for Leeds, it’s unlikely the weather will cause a postponement this weekend.

The update from Met Office states that the weather could cause “some disruption” while highlighting the potential travel delays and supporters making the journey to the MKM Stadium should have this in mind.

Leeds United need to bounce back against Hull

Given Sheffield United lost to Sunderland, the two points dropped from Daniel Farke’s side are slightly less detrimental and they still have a three-point gap at the summit of the Championship.

However, if a similar performance is shown against the Tigers, there is every chance that the Whites could see their three-point gap at the top of the league eradicated and the attacking players will have a crucial role to play in maintaining it.

Leeds struggled to break down the defensive shape of Blackburn and it is likely they’ll have to do the same against Hull on Saturday if they are to achieve a result and they will need much more from their attacking players.

The Whites are still in an excellent position to go on and achieve their ultimate goal of promotion but they are going to need to find a much higher level of consistency with it sometimes unpredictable as to how they will fare against sides who prioritise defending.

Nevertheless, with the game due to go ahead as planned, Leeds have an excellent chance to increase their advantage at the top of the table and they need to make it count.
