Leeds United fans had been on the fence over Illan Meslier but his recent displays have won even the sternest critics over.
Meslier was fantastic against Everton and played a big part in keeping the clean sheet in the 1-0 win.
He made nine saves – two of them reflex saves – and completed 100% of his short passes and three out of four of his long passes. [WyScout].
It was an all-round performance that showed he definitely has what it takes to thrive in the Premier League.
And it’s easy to forget that he’s still only 20-years-old.

A few weeks ago, they might have got some very different responses. However, the overwhelming majority of Leeds fans have now got nothing but praise for the France Under-21 international.
One said he was worth ’10x the 5 mil we paid’. That would value Meslier at £50m. We can see that in the future but maybe not quite yet. Other fans have got him pegged as the future France number one and that would definitely see his value skyrocket.
Considering that he only came into the Leeds first-team midway through last season, and only signed as a permanent player in the summer, Meslier has coped with his meteoric rise brilliantly and we think Lorient will definitely be regretting bringing in another keeper – that was the catalyst that saw Meslier ask for a move.
