Helder Costa now wants to quit Leeds United, club happy to sell

Helder Costa is the latest Leeds United player to let it be known that he wants to quit the club this summer, according to Adam Pope.

The BBC journalist shared his chat with Daniel Farke after the 1-0 loss against Birmingham on Saturday 12 August, with Luis Sinisterra taking the headlines after missing the game.

It comes after Wilfried Gnonto made himself unavailable for the clash at St Andrew’s, with multiple exits now seemingly on the cards to leave the Whites down to the barebones.

Pope shared the following update on his Twitter: “Won’t expand on Sinisterra’s unavailability after being asked if it was a Gnonto situation.

“Asked about Perkins absence, he says he’d rather have less subs if people don’t show in training. Wants a fully committed group.

“Costa wants out and club happy for him to go.”

Mess.

Wow, this season has already turned really toxic at Elland Road and it has only taken one week.

If Gnonto refusing to play was bad, Sinisterra potentially doing the same is even worst and now Costa wants to leave as well, although that one was expected.

This is the right time for the Angolan winger to make his permanent exit from the club, and if the Whites can get a competitive fee for him despite his lack of success, it would be easy money.

Farke has inherited a squad of players who have mostly embarrassed themselves, and if the 49ers Enterprises don’t open their chequebook this week, it could get worst.

Leeds are crying out for new signings, everyone can see that but it is not that easy with outgoings looking more likely than incomings at this moment in time.

It’s not looking good at Leeds, with some dramatic changes needed and quick.
