Harry Redknapp names Crysencio Summerville in Premier League team of the week after Leeds United win v Liverpool

Harry Redknapp has named Leeds United starlet Crysencio Summerville in his Premier League team of the week after they beat Liverpool on Saturday.

Summerville notched an injury time winner at Anfield to snap an eight-game winless run for the Whites as they moved out of the relegation zone and released some of the pressure on Jesse Marsch’s job.

But after his excellent performance on the wing in the game, former Tottenham boss Redknapp told BetVictor [31 October] that he thought Leeds were great and bigged up what a moment it would be for the youngster.

“What a moment for him!” he said.

“Grabbing the winner at Anfield in the dying embers of the game. That doesn’t happen too often.

“I thought Leeds were great, they worked ever so hard. A fantastic result.”

Marsch has been needing to try something new for a while and it seems as though by finally pulling the trigger on that he has managed to change the direction of the club’s season for now.

Liverpool are not the team they’ve been known to be in recent years, but the performance at Anfield was something to be proud of considering the moment we were in ourselves.

Summerville’s energy, pace and restlessness was a huge bonus for the team and his performance will likely see him keep his spot in the team for next weekend’s fixture against Bournemouth, which is likely to be seen as another must-win clash.

After giving him the number ten shirt in the summer as a sign of faith to go with his new contract, Summerville is finally showing that he definitely has the quality to make it at Leeds and can make a big difference for the rest of this season.
