Harry Redknapp makes surprising new Leeds relegation prediction after what he’s seen

Harry Redknapp is keeping a close eye on the Leeds United battle against relegation from the Premier League.

Leeds are one of the favourites for relegation after what has been a mixed start to the campaign at Elland Road.

The Whites are sitting on 11 points after 11 games but have a demanding fixture schedule ahead, with Leeds set to face Aston Villa next.

Recent performances have seen pressure to be sacked build on Daniel Farke as the prospect of a return to the Championship grows each week.

Redknapp hasn’t been deterred by form in LS11 and has offered a relegation prediction that will be music to fans’ ears in West Yorkshire.

Harry Redknapp backs Leeds United to avoid relegation

There are fears that Leeds could soon sack Farke after links to a potential managerial change were in the pipeline over the summer.

The German could have lost his job despite earning promotion to the Premier League after picking up 100 points plus a Championship title.

Leeds fans wanted to keep hold of the 49-year-old, but are starting to turn after a frustrating few weeks in terms of results and performances.

Even after recent defeats against Brighton and Nottingham Forest, there is still hope that Leeds could avoid the drop this season.

Redknapp has told The Sun on Sunday, suggesting that the Elland Road faithful could get their side over the line alongside the other promoted clubs.

He said: “At the start of the season, we all went, ‘Sunderland and Burnley will go down, Leeds might stay up because of that fantastic atmosphere at Elland Road.’

But they could all stay up, especially Sunderland, with the points they’ve got.

How can Leeds avoid relegation from the Premier League?

It isn’t totally doom and gloom for the Whites right now after what had been a largely positive start to life back in the top tier.

Having picked up an average of one point per game, Leeds would likely avoid relegation if they were to keep this record up throughout the season.

The frustration is that the teams around them seem to be in much better form and are rising up the division rather than dropping like Leeds.

Farke needs things to turn around quickly, but that certainly won’t be easy with Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool coming up.
