Gretar Steinsson set for Leeds United appointment, Sam Byram may be one of first transfers

Gretar Steinsson is set to be appointed by Leeds United after he was spotted at the club last week, according to The Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported on its website (17 July) that the Spurs director will join the Whites as a technical director with his exit from the Londoners confirmed.

It is mentioned that with Sam Byram training at the club for fitness, a contract could soon come his way, which would make him one of Steinsson’s first signings.

Multiple new appointments are expected at Elland Road this week for Daniel Farke, with numerous scouts set to take up roles in West Yorkshire under the German.

Leeds are rebuilding for the Championship and Farke has welcomed Byram to Thorp Arch with open arms it seems after their time together at Carrow Road.

Steps forward.

It appears as though the 49ers are really putting their foot on the gas at the start of this week.

The American consortium must have finally heard positive noises from the EFL regarding their full takeover of the club, with transfer news and appointment updates going into overdrive.

Phil Hay has already reported that a move for Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu is well advanced today (17 July) and now Steinsson looks set to be announced too.

On top of that, there is the news that Byram may well be coming home to his boyhood club as he looks to regain fitness after injury worries.

After what has seemed like a summer of sitting and waiting for something to happen, Leeds have finally jumped into action, with this appointment only set to help matters.

An exciting few weeks are ahead at Elland Road, it seems, bring it on.
