Graham Smyth reveals Leeds United fan reaction to Daniel Farke after West Brom loss
Graham Smyth has revealed there was a mixed reaction from Leeds United fans to Daniel Farke after their 1-0 loss to West Brom on Friday night.
A Grady Diangana goal after 37 minutes was enough to claim all three points at The Hawthorns as the Whites failed to score for the second time in five matches.
The loss to the Baggies meant that Farke’s men had only recorded one win in their last five matches, which has seen them drop down to fourth position below Southampton. Smyth saw an “unseen moment” as the manager approached the away fans following the game.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist wrote on Saturday (30 December), “Farke directing those who had not yet been to applaud the visiting supporters. A mixed reaction for Farke from the away end as he himself approached.”
Keep the faith
After such an impressive start to the season under Farke, Leeds are now closer to an exit from the playoff spots than they are to the automatic promotion places.
Just eight points separate the Whites from Sunderland in seventh, with Leicester City running away with the league, and Ipswich Town and Southampton battling for second place.
Leeds have claimed just four points from a possible 15 in their previous five games, losing to Sunderland, Preston North End and West Brom.

Despite Farke’s Championship experience, helping Norwich City back to the Premier League on two occasions, the task of promotion has become much more difficult after recent performances and could have to settle for another season in the second tier if they are unable to rediscover their previous form.
Leeds seemed to have switched into another gear with a comfortable 4-0 victory over fellow promotion-hopefuls Ipswich but have since lost consecutive games for the first time since the end of last season’s Premier League campaign.
In other Leeds United news, one Sky Sports pundit was blown away by footage on a Whites ace out on loan.
