Graham Smyth drops ‘Insane’ verdict on what he’s seen about Leeds United

Graham Smyth described it as “insane” that Leeds United have managed to score eight goals via substitutes already this season.

That return from substitutes is the most from teams in the Championship and the impact of Leeds subs has been important in propelling the Whites to the top of the table.

Farke has in the past earned criticism for his substitutions but Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Smyth says he should now be receiving credit for the “remarkable” statistic.

Smyth, speaking on the Inside Elland Road podcast (28 November), said: “Eight goals from the bench is pretty remarkable at this stage of the season. It’s insane.”

Farke makes Leeds United impactful from the bench

Eight goals from the bench is an incredible statistic and speaks volumes about the level of the Leeds United team this season.

They are a side who are dynamic in front of goal and able to put on a show for their supporters providing plenty of goals for them to cheer throughout the season.

Farke is clearly able to make impactful substitutions that are having an effect on his side’s games and results show why he has been able to take his side to the top of the league.

Being able to keep up this form with goals throughout their games will ensure they are able to keep the momentum up throughout the campaign as they continue to seek promotion.

There’s a long season ahead and with the Whites level on points at the top of the table with Sheffield United, it’s a race that could go down to the very end.

But if Farke’s substitutions can continue to have such an impact then they will no doubt see themselves able to compete right until the very end as well.
