Glen Kamara ‘turning heads’ at Leeds United, he was ‘best player on the pitch’ v Leicester City

Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara is “turning heads” at Elland Road, according to Leeds Live journalist Charlie Bennett.

The journalist added that the midfielder was the “best player on the pitch” in the recent victory against Leicester City.

The Whites clinched a 1-0 victory away to the Foxes on Friday (3 November), with Georginio Rutter on the scoresheet.

“Kamara has forged a solid partnership with Ethan Ampadu at the base of Farke’s 4-2-3-1 system in the previous two outings and was arguably the best player on the pitch against Leicester,” Bennett wrote for Leeds Live.

“Both players were tasked with filling the void left by Tyler Adams’ move to Bournemouth when they arrived in the summer. Kamara, in particular, is turning heads at Elland Road after seeing opportunities hard to come by at Rangers last year.”

Leeds definitely had to battle it out with other clubs in the summer transfer window to land the signature of the midfielder, who was always destined to leave Rangers given his lack of minutes.

Regular playing time wasn’t guaranteed, however, upon his move to Elland Road, with Ampadu and young sensation Archie Gray impressing in midfield.

However, Gray has recently often been deployed by Daniel Farke at right-back, with Kamara moving into midfield alongside Ampadu.

And the Finland international has certainly impressed, using all of his experience from his time at Rangers to effortlessly slot into Farke’s setup.

Given the busy fixture list, Kamara won’t always be in the starting XI, but he will most certainly be a crucial player for his manager as the Whites look to gain promotion to the Premier League.

The West Yorkshire club currently occupy third place in the Championship table after their huge win against Leicester.

In other Leeds United news, the popularity of one Whites ace “continues to soar,” he previously “cut a hapless figure” at Elland Road.
