Gjanni Alioski faces FA investigation over flashpoint v Burnley
Leeds United star Gjanni Alioski faces an FA investigation after an incident in the win over Burnley, report The Telegraph.
An altercation between the left-back and Dwight McNeil has prompted Burnley players to make an official complaint, and it is believed that the FA will look into the matter.
Alioski was clearly infuriated by what McNeil did or said when he was lying on the ground, and the 29-year-old could be seen saying “did you hear what he said to me?” to the referee.
The North Macedonian then pulled a peculiar face at the Burnley man, sticking his tongue out and waving his hands – and that is the gesture that has prompted the complaint.
Nothing to see here
We think this incident has been blown way out of proportion.
As Marcelo Bielsa said, it was not too different from usual disputes on a football pitch.
The only reason this stands out is because Alioski decided to pull a very strange face, which is typical of the player’s character.
As quoted by The Telegraph, Bielsa said, “Even in front of me I saw a dispute, I did not think it was too difficult to what usually happens.”
There could be consequences from the FA’s report however, as Dwight McNeil has been accused of spitting at Alioski while he lay on the pitch.

The footages above is inconclusive but if the winger is found guilty he could be suspended for a number of games.
That would also explain Alioski’s reaction, as he was quite emotional in response to whatever McNeil did.
We trust the investigation will reach the correct conclusion and clear Alioski of any wrongdoing.
It seems as though the Burnley players who complained just could not accept their 4-0 hammering.
