Gianluca Di Marzio drops update on Leeds United duo Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen amid Roma links

The formula has changed as Leeds United defender Diego Llorente is reportedly set to join Roma on a season-long loan this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, it will be a simple loan deal with no option or obligation to buy the Spaniard after his loan spell expires.

Roma will also be working on a separate deal with Leeds to secure the services of Ramus Kristensen on a loan deal.

Via Twitter, Di Marzio wrote, “Roma and LUFC are sealing the agreement for #Llorente. He’ll join Roma, but the formula has changed: it will be a simple loan – no option/obligation to buy. Next week, Roma and LUFC will also work to agree a simple loan deal for Kristensen.”

Right outcome?

The Whites defender has wanted to leave Elland Road for good and the hierarchy also do not seem to want him back at the club.

Llorente struggled under Marcelo Bielsa as well as Jesse Marsch and it’s pretty evident that the defenders Leeds have are better than him.

They’re better off without him and should have worked on selling him permanently as they desperately need the funds to strengthen their side.

This deal seems like it benefits Roma more than it does Leeds and that’s not a good look for anyone involved with the club.

Fans will be hoping that new signings are not too far away as they desperately need to get deals over the line sooner rather than later.

Rasmus Kristensen’s absence will also mean that another right-back could be on Farke’s wishlist for this summer.

In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
