‘Get him back’, ‘Man of the match’ – Many Leeds fans blown away by loanee display on Weds night

Leeds United fans have been raving about loaned-out striker Ryan Edmondson after he stole the show in Aberdeen’s 4-2 win against Hamilton on Wednesday night.

Edmondson, 19, was handed his first start for the Dons since joining them on loan from the Whites in the summer transfer window and managed to repay Derek McInnes’ faith in him by scoring two goals and supplying an assist.

The Leeds teenager has had a rough start to life in the Scottish Premiership as an ankle injury – which was originally meant to see him miss four months of action – ruled him out of six matches in August and September.

However, he’s slowly been reintroduced into the team by McInnes and has now shown that he has the ability to bang in the goals in top-flight matches for Aberdeen.

It’s good news for everyone; Leeds, Aberdeen and, of course, Edmondson himself.

And after seeing him score a brace on Wednesday, a section of Leeds United supporters have taken to Twitter to wax lyrical about the forward with a couple even suggesting that he should be brought back to Elland Road.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

We really cannot agree with the one Leeds fan who’s said that Patrick Bamford’s poor performance against Wolves means that Edmondson should be recalled.

That would be the biggest knee-jerk reaction in Marcelo Bielsa’s career – and he quit Lazio after just two days in charge.

Bamford has three goals and two assists in five Premier League appearances with Liverpool being among the teams he netted against.

Edmondson did well to score twice and assist a goal on Wednesday but some fans are forgetting who he’s playing against.

Hamilton are one of the smallest teams in the Scottish Premiership – if not the smallest. Can the Leeds fans who want him back at Elland Road even name a Hamilton player without checking up on Google?

In other Leeds United news, fans are right to be angry about this incident against Wolves.
