Georginio Rutter wants to jet into UK for Leeds United medical by end of Tuesday
Georginio Rutter is eager to move to Leeds United and is hoping to fly into West Yorkshire by the end of Tuesday, according to The Daily Mail.
It’s understood the 20-year-old France under-21 international is set to cost Leeds around £35million plus add-ons which would exceed their current club record transfer fee.
The Daily Mail report (print edition, 10 January, page 69) that Leeds were locked in talks with Hoffenheim on Monday evening (9 January) and that Rutter is hoping to arrive for a medical late on Tuesday evening (10 January).
It appears Leeds are eager to get this deal over the line and barring any last-minute hiccups, the French attacker will soon be wearing the famous white jersey. The 20-year-old looks to be the versatile forward Jesse Marsch was after, and the American will be hoping he can be the solution to the Whites’ striking problems.
There have certainly been criticisms of the board in recent months, but they have to be praised for submitting a significant bid for Rutter and it demonstrates that they’re completely invested in trying to ensure Leeds’ Premier League survival.
The pressure is now on Marsch to deliver with the backing he has received since his arrival at the club. The majority of the team is now made up of players who have been brought by the American and if the bad results continue, there will only be one person to blame.
It’s been an excellent start to the transfer window and there should now be hope for Leeds to really kick on in the second half of their Premier League campaign.
In other Leeds United news, the club still maintain a firm interest in another forward who is “so strong” despite the movement on Rutter.
