Georginio Rutter spotted in Leeds United jersey ahead of imminent Elland Road transfer

Hoffenheim forward Georginio Rutter has been spotted in a Leeds United jersey as he looks set to seal his permanent move to Elland Road.

According to an image shared by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, the 20-year-old appears to be at the club with his agent.

He is seen wearing the club’s jersey after completing his medical ahead of a club-record transfer.

Via Twitter, Plettenberg wrote, “Rutter: It‘s close to be official! Rutter in his new @LUFC shirt with his agent Roger Wittmann! He has signed. He has passed his medical. Massive transfer! As revealed and confirmed: €40m in total and contract until 2028!”

Big move

There are always worries about moves falling through at the last minute even after all the formalities have been done.

However, this looks like everything is in place and an official announcement could even take place within minutes.

The pictures in the jersey are usually the final things clubs do before making the announcement official via social media.

It’s fair that they’ll wait for the right time to push the post out as they would want to maximise reach on different platforms.

Rutter’s signing is certainly an intriguing one for the fans and they surely cannot wait to see him in a Leeds jersey on the field of play.

The Whites play Cardiff City in the FA Cup next on 18 January and if the announcement is made on Sunday, 15 January, he may make his debut at Elland Road in that game.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has dropped a major update on World Cup star Azzedinie Ounahi’s potential January move to Elland Road.
