Georginio Rutter agents go to Portugal to finalise deal as Leeds United close to major transfer
Leeds United are reportedly on course to securing the January transfer of Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter in the January window.
According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, the striker’s agents were in Portugal to finalise the transfer with him appearing set to move to Elland Road.
The two sides are also close to reaching a conclusion over the price but the 20-year-old appears to be keen on moving to Leeds. making him the club’s second signing this month after Max Wober.
Hawkins wrote on Twitter, “Georginio Rutter wants to join Leeds this winter. Transfer on track. Salary of 4M€/ year and long-term contract ◽️ Hoffenheim are close to a deal with Leeds and want to recover just over 30m€. His agents went to Portugal to finalise the deal.”
It wasn’t long ago that the Whites’ interest first emerged in the player and it now seems like things are progressing at a million miles an hour.
The salary appears to be done and dusted and it also seems like they’re not too far away from deciding on a price for the transfer to happen.
As the 20-year-old himself is keen on moving to Elland Road, we do not see too many problems moving forward if the money is there to make the deal happen.
We’ve seen Leeds leave things until very late in the past and then they either see the player turning their back on the deal or another club swooping in.
That’s precisely why they’ve made things happen quickly and we will not be surprised if an announcement is made in the next few days.
There’s a very good chance that Marsch gives a positive update regarding the club’s transfer pursuit without taking any names.
