Gary Rowett amazed by what ‘brilliant’ Dan James did for Leeds United v Luton
Gary Rowett was full of praise for Dan James after he scored the third goal for Leeds United against Luton on Wednesday night.
The Whites reclaimed their spot at the summit of the Championship with an emphatic victory over struggers Luton Town and James played another crucial role.
The Welshman scored Leeds’ third and ultimately last of the evening, impressing Rowett with his finish.
Speaking on Sky Sports News‘ coverage of the game, he said: “Dan James just takes it early, that’s a man in confidence. Just dinks it over the top of the ‘keeper as he comes out, it’s really, really nice composure.
“That’s what you do when you’re in confidence. It’s a brilliant finish and just shows what brilliant attacking options Leeds have.”
Leeds United reclaim top spot in the Championship
Luton, despite what has been a poor season so far, are a good side and Leeds’ ability to cut through them like a knife through butter is a testament to the level of quality not only in the squad but also in the dugout.
Daniel Farke has done an excellent job and claims for him to be sacked are so far off the mark. If Leeds are to get promoted he will be at the helm.
James impressed yet again with his delightful finish and an argument can be made for him being one of the most in-form players in the division currently.

The fact that the Whites have Manor Solomon, Willy Gnonto, Largie Ramzani and James all fighting for the same position in the side just demonstrates the level of quality in the squad and the amount of depth that Farke has at his disposal.
Of course, there is still a long way to go yet and consistency will prove to be key but if Leeds can maintain the performance level that was on display at Elland Road, they have every chance of a Premier League return.
