The entire country celebrated when Leeds United fired home their equaliser in the final moments against Liverpool on Monday evening.

It was Diego Llorente who headed home after the Whites had missed numerous clear-cut chances against the Premier League chances.

After the European Super League was announced over the weekend, there were mass protests against Liverpool outside of Elland Road.

Gary Lineker summed up the emotions perfectly with his instant reaction on his personal Twitter account as the Whites picked up a deserved point.

"Premier League one, European Super League one," he wrote.

"A blow for legacy fans everywhere."

Super?

The Whites have beaten Manchester City and drawn against Liverpool in consecutive weeks in the Premier League.

To put that into context, that is a newly-promoted side taking four points against two of the newest members in this so-called Super League.

Should we beat or even draw against Manchester United next week, we could be expecting a big invite into the post to join up.

We're joking of course, with Andrea Radrizzani and everyone surrounding the club correctly outraged at the recent developments.

This is more proof that this new competition is ludicrous, and Leeds can hold their heads high after another marvellous performance at Elland Road.

Lineker was clearly rubbing salt in the wound, but he makes a great point that everything coming from this new competition should be scrapped immediately.
