Gary Lineker delighted with what he’s seen as Leeds United beat West Ham
Daniel Farke took another crucial step towards Premier League survival after Leeds United beat West Ham United on Friday.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team travelled to Elland Road on 24 October and looked out of their depth for most of the game.
Joe Rodon has been instrumental for Farke this season, and scored the second goal of the 2-1 win against the Hammers.
The Irons are 19th in the English top flight, and while it’s still early in the campaign, a win over them could certainly be considered a six-pointer for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland not in relegation zone
Gary Lineker is happy to see the trend of promoted teams being in the bottom three end this season.
The former English striker is delighted that the Whites, Burnley and Sunderland are comfortably clear of the relegation zone as things stand.
With the Elland Road faithful hoping to avoid an immediate drop to the Championship, their current prospects look encouraging.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football on 27 October, Lineker said: “I think it’s good for the league that the three teams that were promoted, none of them are currently in the bottom three.”
The former Leicester City and Barcelona forward added: “In fact, they’re all pretty comfortably away from the gap at the moment. Burnley are five points clear of the bottom three, Leeds are six points clear and Sunderland are flying high. That’s great.”
Opta’s supercomputer predicts Leeds to finish 16th in the Premier League this season, but it remains to be seen how well the Peacocks can cope in their upcoming matches.
Daniel Farke has another six-pointer coming up in Premier League
It wasn’t long ago that Farke was facing criticism at Elland Road after the Whites lost 2-0 to Burnley away from home on 18 October.
It goes to show that Leeds’ prospects can change every week, and the German manager has another crucial tie coming up.
| Date | Opposition |
| 1 November | Brighton |
| 9 November | Nottingham Forest |
| 23 November | Aston Villa |
| 29 November | Manhester City |
| 3 December | Chelsea |
| 6 December | Liverpool |
The West Yorkshire outfit are six points clear of 18th-place Nottingham Forest in the league table, and travel to the City Ground on 9 November.
While the Peacocks have to prepare for Brighton next, Farke will undoubtedly have an eye on the game against Sean Dyche’s team as three points in NG2 could potentially go a long way in the Premier League relegation battle.
