Garth Crooks slams Patrick Bamford even though he wasn’t on the pitch for Leeds United

Garth Crooks was responsible for a huge punditry blunder on BBC’s Final Score on Saturday as Leeds United lost 2-0 away at Brighton.

Bamford, 27, didn’t have a great game and was substituted off by Marcelo Bielsa in the 59th minute.

However, with 10 minutes left to play, that didn’t stop Crooks from berating the striker and claiming he was nowhere to be seen – even though he wasn’t on the pitch.

Journalist Ste Hoare quoted Crooks via his personal Twitter account with the BBC Final Score pundit saying: “Patrick Bamford, I’ve not seen him.

“The game’s not over yet, we know he’s quite capable of scoring in the last minute as he is in the first, but we haven’t seen him yet.”

Oh dear, Garth

Crooks leaves us absolutely baffled sometimes.

He’s been working as a pundit for the BBC for what seems like forever but has been responsible for some absolute shockers.

Last month, he named Diego Llorente in his team of the week despite criticising him. He also slammed Liverpool’s Joel Matip earlier this season for a game he didn’t play in.

And now he’s off on one criticising Bamford for being anonymous even when he wasn’t on the pitch.

Whether you think Crooks is a good pundit or not, at least he gives us some good laughs.

Bamford wasn’t great against Brighton.

He didn’t do a lot in his 59 minutes on the pitch so we can kind of forgive Crooks for not even noticing he’d been substituted off.

But seriously. Come on, Garth. Pay attention.

In other Leeds United news, Gary Lineker and Ian Wright were baffled by what this Leeds player did at the AMEX.
