Gareth Ainsworth blown away by Leeds transfer decision live on Sky Sports
Leeds United did not make any additions to their squad in the winter transfer window.
The Whites sit top of the Championship with a two-point advantage over Sheffield United after the 4-0 hammering of Watford (11 February).
Daniel Farke felt that his side was good enough to secure an automatic promotion place and would have only acted had a top-quality player become available.
Given that Leeds are currently five points above third-place Burnley, that decision looks like a very shrewd one at the moment.
Gareth Ainsworth gives Leeds United transfer verdict
Gareth Ainsworth agrees that the Elland Road outfit did not need to do any business in the transfer market.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (12 February, 19:35 pm), the Shrewsbury manager said: “I was asked recently about which team had the best [transfer] window in the Championship and I said Leeds United because they didn’t sign anyone.”
“They didn’t need anyone. He got it so right in the summer that they’re just clinical. It’s taken a couple of months at the start but they’ve got player after player who can come off the bench and cause problems.”
Leeds United could regret lack of transfer business
The lack of business in the winter window could come back to haunt the Whites if they somehow fail to secure automatic promotion at the end of the season.
They look like they are in a great position to go on and obtain Premier League football next season at the moment but things can change very quickly in the Championship.
Third-placed Burnley could very well turn around the five-point margin that Leeds have on them at the moment as the season edges towards the end and the Thorp Arch side will be wary of the heartbreaking fashion that they missed out on promotion last year.

However, Farke’s side have looked by far and away the best side in the division this campaign and it would take something unusual for them to suddenly start losing a bunch of matches, considering that they have lost just three games this term.
The Whites need to stay composed and focus on their own matches, not what teams around them are doing and the German will be instilling that mentality into his players as the season comes to a close.
Leeds should have too much quality to miss out on the automatic spots, they have scored the most goals in the division by a margin of 16 with 66 strikes and the second-best defensive record in the league, conceding just 19 goals in 32 matches.
