Gabriel Gudmundsson sends three-word message to Noah Okafor after Leeds draw vs Chelsea

Gabriel Gudmundsson was blown away by the performance of Noah Okafor at Stamford Bridge.

Leeds United’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Tuesday night was a showcase of the character of this squad, as well as the quality that Daniel Farke has at his disposal.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence was a huge blow prior to kick-off, but Lukas Nmecha again showed that he is a capable understudy, having registered a goal and an assist on his first Premier League start since New Year’s Day.

However, it was Okafor’s goal that saw Leeds rescue a point, albeit in controversial fashion.

Noah Okafor impact comes good again for Leeds United

Chelsea looked set to coast to another home victory before Moises Caicedo’s foul in the penalty area gifted the Whites a route back into the game.

There were very few complaints about that incident, though there were plenty about Okafor’s goal, with replays showing that Jayden Bogle handled the ball in the build-up.

Liam Rosenior was fuming when told it was given due to it being an accidental handball, though the Whites couldn’t care less, given it was the goal that saw them pick up their 30th point of the campaign.

After a scramble in the penalty area, Okafor couldn’t have missed the chance that fell to him, though that didn’t stop Gudmundsson from piling the praise on the Swiss forward after the game.

Okafor took to Instagram to celebrate his fourth goal for Leeds United, with Gudmundsson posting in the replies: “You don’t stop,” with the 25-year-old having also scored in the previous clash with Nottingham Forest.

Leeds United made history with comeback draw vs Chelsea

Not only are Leeds United the first newly promoted side in Premier League history to remain unbeaten against both Chelsea and Liverpool, but Tuesday’s draw at Stamford Bridge also saw them make history in other ways.

It was the first time in their history that they have come back from 2-0 down in a Premier League game in London to secure a point, showcasing the way Farke has changed the mentality.

The Whites were one of the favourites for relegation this season, but time and time again, they have showcased that they have the quality to compete in the top flight.

However, the quality has not been the defining factor, and instead, the character that Farke has installed in his players.

Heading into the final 12 games of the season, the Whites sit six points above the drop zone, and if they can retain that belief, they will have no issues avoiding relegation.
