Gabriel Agbonlahor makes Leeds United Champions League admission after Bournemouth win
Gabriel Agbonlahor has mocked Leeds United for celebrating the 4-3 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday like they won the Champions League.
The Whites came back from 3-1 down, to pick up the three points at Elland Road despite missing their main striker in Patrick Bamford.
Jesse Marsch was under tremendous pressure going into this game, but his Leeds side has now picked up six points from the last two games.
Via talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said, “The only thing I was disappointed with was how Leeds were celebrating.
“They win 4-3 today and celebrate like they won the Champions League.
“Defend properly and you don’t concede three goals at home. To Bournemouth? Bournemouth have looked decent going forward but you can be conceding goals like they did under Bielsa.
“It was like watching Bielsa’s Leeds. Yes, great result to get the win but they are celebrating like they beat Manchester City at home.”
Whenever Agbonlahor talks, it’s like it’s the first time he’s ever watched football and it’s getting to be ridiculous now.
Any team, after being down 3-1 with less than a half to go, will celebrate like no tomorrow if they end up winning the game.
Yes, Leeds should be beating sides like Bournemouth and they were awful in the first half, but they deserve the world of credit for it.
Marsch was under tremendous pressure and he had to deliver a strong message at half time and change a few things as it was his job on the line.
Bringing on youngsters is always a gamble but it was one that many fans have wanted him to take for the past few weeks.
Agbonlahor is taking away all the fun from what makes football the beautiful game and we’re surprised that he keeps making a mockery of himself with these soundbites without learning how ridiculous he sounds.
In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has delivered Jesse Marsch’s “sack” verdict after what he heard last month.
