Gabby Agbonlahor shares ‘panic stations’ verdict after what Jeff Stelling said about Daniel Farke sack at Leeds United

Gabby Agbonlahor isn’t overly worried about Leeds United right now.

Daniel Farke has come under sack pressure at Leeds after a frustrating run of Premier League results has left the Whites just one point above the relegation zone.

Leeds lost 3-1 to Nottingham Forest last time around to make it two away defeats on the bounce, conceding six in the process.

That has seen some members of the Elland Road lose faith and point towards Farke potentially facing the sack at Leeds.

Jeff Stelling has spoken out on these thoughts, while Agbonlahor is remaining calm after what he’s seen so far from Farke’s side this campaign.

Jeff Stelling speaks on Daniel Farke sack talk at Leeds United

Farke could have been sacked by Leeds in the summer as the 49ers were linked with a more experienced coach at the top level.

The German’s relegation with Norwich City in his last Premier League outing looked set to go against him after promotion from the Championship.

The general fan sentiment was to stand by the head coach, and in the end, he remained, but the public perception is beginning to shift.

Stelling has noticed this change and spoken out about the scrutiny the Leeds boss is facing after a mixed start to the season.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on 17 November, he said: “Daniel Farke, if you read the local media, he’s under increasing pressure there.

This is an amazing situation because at the end of last season, he’s taken Leeds up with 100 points, and that was not enough for some people to believe he was the right man for the job.

The situation in LS11 may not be ideal right now, especially with a tough run of fixtures ahead in the Premier League.

This has made Leeds’ early-season form all the more important, having racked up 11 points in their first nine outings.

Agbonlahor has suggested that this will stand the Whites in good stead to avoid relegation, despite his prior belief that Farke should be sacked.

The former Aston Villa man doesn’t believe the panic button should be hit just yet.

I was one of those [who thought Farke should be sacked], only because of what he did at Norwich.

He started off the season well, but recent results haven’t been great. If you look at the league table, they’re on the same points as Fulham. They’re above Burnley, West Ham, Forest and Wolves, it’s not panic time yet.

If they continue how they are now, they’ll end up with 38 points. I think that would be enough to stay up. I don’t think it’s panic stations yet, but they need to start making Elland Road a fortress.

Leeds fans can take Agbonlahor’s comment in stride and hope that Farke can turn things around, but the sack remains a realistic expectation for the German this season.
