Gabby Agbonlahor hits out at Derby live on air in new Leeds United prediction
Gabby Agbonlahor believes Leeds United will earn Premier League promotion this season, being too strong for anyone else.
The outspoken pundit predicts the Whites will win against Derby County on 29 December at Pride Park in the Championship, despite their good home form.
After the 2-0 win over Stoke on Boxing Day at the bet365 Stadium, the Peacocks find themselves at the top of the table, and Agbonlahor has them getting promoted this season.
Speaking on talkSPORT(27 December), the 38-year-old said: “I do [think they will get promoted]. On Sunday, it’ll be a happy Farke because Derby are poor.
“Leeds are a very good team. Derby very good at home, poor away. They are playing at home on Sunday, but Farke’s team are too strong for anyone at the moment.”
Leeds United favourites to get back into Premier League
The West Yorkshire club are the favourites to get back into the English top flight due to the strength of their squad.
Despite several injury issues, the Whites have managed to remain at the top of the Championship and are in an ideal position going into the second half of the season.
For the majority of the campaign, the German manager has relied on Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka in the middle of the park, but Ethan Ampadu has returned to the fold after his fitness issues.
Ilia Gruev is also on his road to recovery, and Farke could soon have his strongest Leeds United squad at his disposal.
The Whites are level on points with Sheffield United at the moment but will have a chance to increase that gap on Sunday (29 December) if the Blades fail to win against West Brom.
Derby are in the bottom half of the table, having won just one of their last eight fixtures in the second tier of English football, and the Peacocks will be expected to get the better of them at Pride Park.
