Gabby Agbonlahor adamant over Daniel Farke sack question after what he’s seen at Leeds

Daniel Farke has already faced some early questions over his position at Leeds United this season.

Leeds lost 2-1 to Tottenham before the international break, with the Whites now sitting 15th in the Premier League.

But it has not been a particularly bad start for Farke‘s side, who have faced difficult opposition so far this season.

Better results will be expected soon, however, with Leeds set to face fellow promoted club Burnley on Saturday in an early-season six-pointer.

Burnley are the slight favourites against Leeds, after taking four points from the sides’ meetings in the Championship last season.

Farke has been backed by Leeds owners, the 49ers, after his side’s start to the Premier League season.

There have been negatives for the Whites – the 5-0 loss to Arsenal was humiliating – but there have certainly been positives, too.

Victory against Everton on the opening day made for a superb return to the top flight, and Leeds got the job done against relegation-threatened Wolves.

Additionally, Farke’s team are one of just three teams to prevent high-flying Bournemouth from winning in the Premier League so far this season, with the Cherries relying on a 93rd-minute equaliser to come away with a point.

Gabby Agbonlahor shared a similar sentiment when he was asked if he expects Farke to come under any sack pressure in the coming weeks.

“No, I don’t, the former Aston Villa striker told talkSPORT on Friday. “No. I feel like, how tight it’s going to be down thereWest Ham are still going to be down there.

Wolves are still down there. Nottingham Forest could still be down there, Brentford, seven points. I just think what he’s doing there with Leeds, they look competitive every single game.

Even the Spurs game they lost, was it 2-1? They looked competitive in that game, they could’ve got an equaliser as well. So I don’t think Daniel Farke is under any pressure.

Daniel Farke has significant credit in the bank

Farke was appointed in 2023 and accrued 190 points for Leeds across two seasons in the Championship, before promotion was achieved.

Of course, the German is not immune to the sack; no one is. But the 48-year-old can expect to be given time for his team to settle down in the Premier League.

The going will get tough at some stage this season – that is one of the few things the Premier League often guarantees – and that is when Leeds’ backing of their man will be truly tested.
