Future Leeds United captain Scott Godden may not be far away from debut as international footage emerges
Leeds United sensation Scott Godden was impressive during the international break when he turned up for the Wales Under-19 side.
The 18-year-old captained the Welsh side to a 1-0 victory on Monday (11 September) afternoon against Finland.
He also played a crucial role in setting up the winning goal as his immaculate free kick found Daniel Cox who broke the deadlock.
Football Report, an account dedicated to posting footage of talented youngsters, shared the clip on Twitter.
The left-back captained the Welsh side and it’s good to see him taking charge and setting an example on the field of play as well.
Leeds are in desperate need of quality left-backs and Sam Byram and Junior Firpo cannot be the answers to a crucial position like that.
Godden is an attack-minded full-back who’s exceptional going forward and is among the better players in his age group.
It’s good to see how being a leader at such an early age and if he keeps improving and performing that way for both club and country, it’s not hard to fathom him being the captain for even the senior side in the next 10 years.
There’s certainly a long way to go but he appears to be on the right track and hopefully, he gets the right guidance at Thorp Arch.
In other Leeds United news, a Whites player now faces over 12 weeks out of action due to injury if the worst-case scenario takes place.
