Fulham make decision on bid for Brenden Aaronson in Leeds United transfer news

Fulham made enquiries for Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson over the past week but have decided not to make an offer, according to the Daily Mail.

Aaronson also joined the Whites last summer in a high-profile switch from Red Bull Salzburg and is said to be exploring his options with a relegation clause being placed in his contract [Fabrizio Romano, 29 May] – now suggested to be £25m [90Min].

The American international looks destined to leave Elland Road after just a year in West Yorkshire, with German outfit Union Berlin reportedly targeting his services, according to The Telegraph (30 June).

And according to the Daily Mail newspaper [1 July, page 105], the Billionaire-owned West London outfit made enquiries over the American’s availability last week but have now stopped short of making a bid.

Weird

In order for Leeds United to get their incomings and outgoings underway this summer, it is imperative the 49ers Enterprises build the foundations at the top of the club, starting with a new manager which is close to being sorted.

Leeds United were always bound to garner much interest from many of their key stars which has only been further compounded by their relegation to the Championship, giving the players a strong reason to seek pastures new.

Aaronson looking set to depart Elland Road having not even been at the club for a year is a bitter pill for the Whites to swallow considering he was a big-money signing last summer.

His arrival was highly anticipated after we barely avoided relegation under Jesse Marsch, and his career started brightly with a goal in a 3-0 win over Chelsea.

Since then, his form tailed off and his signing has almost represented everything that has gone wrong at Leeds United but there was still a quality player in there.

Fulham not going for him is a weird one given he still has plenty to offer in the Premier League, but it now seems a move to Germany is now well on the cards.

In other Leeds news, negotiations could come to an end this weekend as ace heads for exit.
