Franz Schiemer quits day-to-day Leeds United job after close work with Jesse Marsch
Jesse Marsch’s assistant Franz Schiemer has stepped back from his day-to-day role at Leeds United, according to Training Ground Guru.
The reliable news outlet reported on 13 July that Schiemer, 36, joined Marsch’s coaching team as his assistant manager back in February but it is understood that he “will leave his role on a day-to-day basis but continue to work with the club ‘as a coaching consultant from afar’.”
It is understood that Ewan Sharp has been hired to replace the Austrian, who also worked with Marsch at Red Bull Salzburg.

In a big change behind the scenes at Thorp Arch, Pierre Barrieu has also arrived from Toronto FC to be Leeds’ new head fitness coach and performance analyst.
Mark Jackson and Cameron Toshack are said to have agreed new deals with the Yorkshire giants.
All change
It remains to be seen how these changes will affect Leeds in the short and long-term.
But ultimately, Marsch knows what he wants for his backroom staff and if Schiemer has had to move on so that Sharp can come in then that’s not a bad thing.
Sharp spent the second half of last season working with Ralf Rangnick.
While Man United’s season was an epic failure, Sharp would have no doubt learned a lot from his time at Old Trafford and that could help him out when it comes to working at Leeds.
Sharp is a young coach.

He’s only 30 years old but has quite an education in football, studying a Major in Sport Business at Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania between 2010 and 2014.
Of course, he has links with Red Bull – who doesn’t at Leeds these days?
He linked up with Rangnick at New York Red Bulls, which is probably how Marsch knows about him too.
Leeds are slowly morphing into a knock-off Red Bull club with strong American ties.
We’re not sure how this is going to work out, in all honesty.
In other Leeds United news, a “ridiculous” offer could lead to this Englishman being sold by the Whites.
