'Lampard is furious', 'The rage it will cause' – Some Leeds fans react to FIFA post about Bielsa

Marcelo Bielsa has been nominated for the FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year award and Leeds United fans are absolutely delighted.

Despite spending last season in the Championship, making his nomination even more incredible, Bielsa is now in heavy-hitting company.

Alongside Bielsa is Hans-Dieter Flick, Jurgen Klopp, Julen Lopetegui and Zinedine Zidane.

The nominations for the award were posted on the official FIFA Twitter account on Wednesday morning.

Leeds fans have always risen to the challenge of an online vote and traditionally swarmed their opponents.

However, this really is the big boy’s league and it represents another challenge entirely.

Imagine though, if enough Leeds fans can mobilise to sweep Bielsa to the award?

That’s the challenge we’re setting you now – you can click through the tweet above and sign up to vote.

As one fan said, “Can you imagine the saltiness if Bielsa won it!”, while another said, “Sign in and vote Bielsa by the thousands. Whether he deserves it or not is irrelevant, the rage it will cause if he wins will be worth it.”

Athletic journalist Phil Hay summed it up when he said, “In good company here”.

But we’ve got faith in the Leeds fans.

We’ve also got faith that Bielsa is going to be left entirely unmoved by this in tomorrow’s pre-match press conference, although we hope that secretly, deep down inside, he’s very pleased.
