Frank Lampard gestures at Leeds fans after Championship win v Coventry
Frank Lampard was “cupping his ears” to the Leeds United supporters after the Whites secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against his Coventry side, according to Joe Donnohue.
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist posted on X (5 February), that Lampard was seen sarcastically gesturing towards the Leeds faithful despite being on the losing side.
Daniel Farke’s men secured a comfortable victory and in the end, should have won by far more than two with Lampard seemingly quite bothered by the reception received by the away support.
The rivalry between Lampard and the Whites goes a long way back and will inevitably continue in the future.
Leeds United get the last laugh over Frank Lampard
Quite frankly, Leeds wiped the floor with Coventry who were completely played off the pitch by Farke’s side who will be kicking themselves to have only scored twice.
The visitors had several huge chances in the game but failed to take them and could have inflicted far more hurt on Lampard had they shown a better level of composure in the final third.
Joel Piroe was on the score sheet but could have had at least three with Dan James and Brenden Aaronson both struggling when getting into advanced areas.
Nevertheless, Lampard will struggle to sleep at night after what happened and Leeds supporters will undoubtedly be lapping his gesture up.

The Whites now find themselves five points clear at the top of the Championship, and 25 points clear of Lampard’s Coventry City, making his antics seem rather bizarre.
Leeds have certainly had the last laugh after a comfortable victory.
