Frank Lampard breaks silence on Patrick Bamford transfer as ex-Leeds United star learns fate
Patrick Bamford is still searching for his next club after departing Leeds United.
While Leeds are sitting in 15th of the Premier League, Bamford is likely sitting around wondering if he will be given a chance to get back into English football.
Bamford was linked with a move to Getafe recently, but that deal fell through, leaving the 32-year-old in limbo over his future.
However, the former Leeds star seemed as though he was set to be offered a lifeline by Frank Lampard‘s Coventry City, with an update emerging on a potential deal.

Patrick Bamford unlikely to join Coventry, it seems
Bamford had been training with Coventry in a bid to build his fitness and presumably try and earn a contract with the Championship leaders.
The Sky Blues haven’t exactly been short of goals this season either, with a remarkable 34 scored in 12 games.
On Saturday, it was reported that Coventry had no interest in signing Bamford and were just offering him a place to train, and Lampard has since echoed this stance.
As quoted by Coventry Live, he said: “Yeah, I guess you could call it doing him a favour. I know Patrick well, and he hasn’t got a club. He’s training with us. I’m very happy, he’s a good lad, Patrick. He’s very easy.

“I know the conclusions everyone’s going to get to, but he’s just training with us.”
The search for a club goes on for the Englishman.

Where next for Patrick Bamford?
Bamford has struggled massively over the last few seasons, not just with form, but also with injuries.
As a result, it seems as though clubs aren’t willing to take a risk on the former Leeds star, who is likely to command a substantial wage.
However, given the fact that he is available on a free, it is a little bit surprising that clubs lower down the English pyramid haven’t at least looked into the possibility.
At 32 years old, his best days are certainly behind him, but he would be able to offer something different to what many modern sides have available to them, and it may only be a matter of time until someone pulls the trigger.
