Leeds United could be hit by financial ‘disaster’ as ‘big hit’ speculated by ex-star
Jermaine Pennant believes that Daniel Farke is the “perfect fit” for Leeds United as they chase a return to the Premier League.
Farke has endured some heavy criticism during his time as Leeds boss, many of it perhaps unwarranted. However, a sublime start to the current campaign has the Whites in an excellent position to push on and achieve promotion under the German.
Leeds sit just three points behind league leaders Sunderland and Pennant has expressed his belief that Farke can achieve great things with this current Leeds side.
Speaking at the Copa del Cure Leukaemia tournament, in quotes reported by Chester Standard, Pennant said: “He knows how to get out of that league, he’s done it many times with Norwich so he’s probably the perfect person and fit for Leeds.
“It would be hard for them financially if they don’t go up, a big hit and it would be a disaster but it’s a tough league and there are some big teams in it.
“I am sure that come 46 games, they will be there or thereabouts in the race to get back into the Premier League.”
Leeds United win against Sheffield United was huge
Not only did the win allow Leeds to move level on points with Sheffield United, it did wonders for the club being able to demonstrate their promotion credentials.

Prior to that win, Farke’s side had failed to beat any side occupying a top-six spot after attempts against Sunderland, West Brom and Burnley.
Sheffield United were previously unbeaten before Leeds were able to halt their progress in a 2-0 win, limiting the visitors to just five shots, none of which were on target.
The Championship looks like it will be a fiercely competitive competition when it comes to achieving promotion however Leeds certainly look like they will be one of the favourites as the season pans out.
With the January transfer window approaching, Leeds will have the opportunity to add even further quality to their squad which would provide a huge boost in their hopes to return to the Premier League.
In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke believes Leeds United would be in the Premier League now if Patrick Bamford was fully fit at the end of last season.
