'For the love of god', 'Not now' - Plenty of Leeds fans react to EFL Twitter update

Marcelo Bielsa is up for the Championship Manager of the Month Award and plenty of superstitious Leeds United fans are desperate for him not to get it.

Many fans see the award as a curse and with Leeds on a five-game winning run, they don’t want anything to get in the way of the Bielsa juggernaut.

Bielsa is up against promotion rivals Slaven Bilic (West Brom) and Scott Parker (Fulham), with Wigan boss Paul Cook making up the nominees.

The news was announced on the official EFL Championship Twitter page on Thursday morning.

Bielsa was given the November Manager of the Month award after an amazing run that included a run of five straight wins in November.

That was followed by a disastrous slump in form that saw the club win just two games in 12. That let the chasing pack catch up but the latest run has seen the buffer back to third move back to seven points, with Leeds one point ahead of West Brom at the top of the table.
